Friday Bowl Recap: Kansas State, Baylor, Colorado All Win
Three Big 12 games today. Three Big 12 wins. The conference is absolutely EATING.
Lemme break down what happened before I pass out from football exhaustion.
Liberty Bowl: Kansas State 27, Arkansas 20
Called it. K-State ground Arkansas into dust.
DJ Giddens went for 142 yards on 28 carries. Twenty-eight carries. The man was a workhorse. Arkansas knew it was coming and couldn’t do a damn thing about it.
Avery Johnson was efficient — nothing spectacular but no mistakes. 14-of-21, 156 yards, a touchdown. He managed the game and let Giddens do the heavy lifting.
The under hit too. We said 47.5 was too high. Final combined score: 47. Right on the number.
Pick results: K-State -1 ✅ Under 47.5 ✅
Armed Forces Bowl: Baylor 28, Army 21
Closer than I expected but Baylor got it done.
Army’s triple option actually moved the ball early. Had some long drives, ate clock, controlled tempo. For a minute there I thought we might’ve underestimated ’em.
But Baylor’s defense adjusted. Started setting the edge better, forcing Army into predictable third-and-long situations. And when Army has to throw? They’re in trouble.
Sawyer Robertson had a solid game. 18-of-26, 213 yards, 2 TDs. Nothing heroic but nothing stupid either.
The under was close — 49 total points against a 44.5 line — but it missed. Dammit.
Pick results: Baylor -3 ✅ Under 44.5 ❌
Holiday Bowl: Colorado 38, USC 35
CHAOS. ABSOLUTE CHAOS.
Colorado was down 28-17 at halftime. Dead in the water. USC was moving the ball at will.
Then the second half happened.
Sanders went nuclear. 21-of-28 in the second half alone. Three touchdown drives. Colorado scored on four straight possessions to take the lead. Then USC tied it. Then Colorado hit a field goal with 30 seconds left.
Final: Colorado 38, USC 35. According to ESPN, Shedeur threw for 380 yards total. Insane performance.
The over hit by a MILE. We said 58.5. Final combined: 73.
Mike’s note: That second half was one of the most entertaining 30 minutes of football I’ve seen all year. Shedeur Sanders is gonna be RICH.
