2025 Big 12 Football Season: A Complete Retrospective

Happy New Year.

The 2025 Big 12 season’s officially over. The books are closed. Lemme look back at what just happened.

The Headlines

Texas Tech won their first conference championship in 31 years. Jake’s team went 11-3, beat BYU in the championship, made the College Football Playoff.

Iowa State had their best season ever. 11-3. Beat Miami in a NY6 bowl. Campbell’s the best coach nobody talks about.

BYU went 12-2. Lost to Tech in the championship but bounced back to beat LSU.

Colorado stayed relevant. 10-3 with a bowl win. Travis Hunter won the Heisman.

Kansas is legitimately good. 8-5. Bowl win. The turnaround’s real.

Oklahoma State hit rock bottom. 3-9. Coaching change. My team’s a disaster.

What We Learned

1. The Big 12 don’t need Texas and Oklahoma. The conference went 7-1+ in bowls. The league’s deeper than ever.

2. Parity’s a feature, not a bug. Every week somebody got upset. That’s what makes it entertaining.

3. Defense wins championships. Tech’s defense. Iowa State’s defense. BYU’s defense.

4. The portal changes everything. Rosters for 2026 will look nothing like 2025.

Final Thoughts

Great year for Big 12 football. Thanks for reading along.

Jake’s note: BIG 12 CHAMPIONS BABY. Wreck ‘Em.
