Big 12 Bowl Season Report Card: Grading Every Team

Seven games down. One to go. The Big 12 is 7-1 in bowl season, which is honestly ridiculous.

Lemme grade every team that’s played so far.

Iowa State: A+

Beat Miami 24-21

You beat a top-15 opponent in a NY6 bowl. You held them to 21 points. You possessed the ball for 36 minutes. Iowa State finished 11-3. Matt Campbell is elite.

BYU: A

Beat LSU 23-20

Beat an SEC team. Held ’em to 20 points. BYU finished 12-2 — only losses to Tech and Iowa State. Hell of a year.

Kansas: A

Beat Syracuse 34-24

Won a bowl game. Finished 8-5. The turnaround is real. Leipold has this thing humming.

Colorado: A-

Beat USC 38-35

Wild comeback. Shedeur went nuclear in the second half. The minus is because they needed such a massive comeback — the defense gave up 35 to a mediocre USC team.

Kansas State: B+

Beat Arkansas 27-20

Solid win against a physical SEC opponent. DJ Giddens dominated. 9-4 is solid.

West Virginia: B+

Beat South Carolina 31-27

Won a game they probably shouldn’t have won. Garrett Greene made plays when it mattered. 7-6 with a bowl win feels like progress.

Baylor: B

Beat Army 28-21

Beat a triple-option team. Aranda had ’em prepared. But it was closer than it should’ve been.

Cincinnati: C

Lost to FSU 24-17

The only Big 12 loss. 6-7 ain’t where Cincinnati wants to be. Satterfield’s running outta runway.

Big 12 Bowl Record: 7-1

Best bowl record of any conference. The SEC’s 3-4. Big Ten’s 4-3.

One game left — TCU vs Texas A&M. Let’s finish 8-1.
