Mike & Jake’s Take

🛋️ Mike’s Take (Oklahoma State Fan)

Kenny Dillingham is either going to be an elite coach or flame out spectacularly. There’s no middle ground with that guy.

The energy is real. The recruiting has improved. The offense is creative. And the results are starting to show — 8-4 is a solid season for a program that was in chaos two years ago.

The thing that stands out watching ASU film is the tempo. They play fast. Really fast. They want to run 80+ plays per game and tire out defenses. When it works, it’s devastating. When it doesn’t, they go three-and-out before you can blink.

The quarterback play improved significantly. The offensive line is better. The defense is… still a work in progress, but they’re competitive.

8-4 puts them in a bowl game against USC, which is a fascinating matchup. Dillingham is building something. Whether it sustains, we’ll see. Check our standings for where they landed.

Confidence Level: Trending up, high variance

🍺 Jake’s Take (Texas Tech Fan)

Dillingham is a vibe.

I don’t know if he’s a great coach yet. But he’s entertaining. The sideline energy, the social media presence, the recruiting pitches — it’s like watching a startup CEO who accidentally became a football coach.

The results are there, though. 8-4 is legit. They beat Colorado. They beat Arizona. They competed with everyone except Tech (we won 35-21, thank you very much).

The offense is fun to watch. Fast, explosive, creative. The defense gives up too many points, but the offense scores enough to compensate.

ASU is a program I’m watching. If Dillingham can recruit at a high level consistently, they’re going to be a problem in the Big 12. The 2026 class looks good. For more on how I evaluate programs like this, check our Recliner vs Barstool system.
